Shoutz raises $1.7M

Austin-based software maker Shoutz has raised $1.7 million of a planned $4 million financing.  Shoutz is mobilizing the industry with its mobile engagement and monetization platform, along with its app, LotteryHUB. The convenient app allows players to easily follow the jackpots, check and track numbers, watch live drawings and earn rewards and benefits.

Seismos grabs $4M Series A

Data analytics company Seismos raised a $4 million Series A round this week. The Austin-based startup said the capital will be used “to power its market rollout and product enhancement efforts,” according to a Tuesday announcement. Red Book Connect rebrands to HotSchedules, raises $20M

VUV Analytics completes $9M Series A

VUV Analytics closed a $9 million Series A and venture debt financing and appointed a new CEO Clark Jernigan. The round was led by S3 Ventures. Financing will be used to extend global sales & new applications development.

Everfest comes out of stealth mode, raises $1.5M and plans to hire in-house costume designer

Loop & Tie collects $100K from Steve Case at Google Demo Day

Austin-based Loop & Tie got a nice surprise at last week's second annual Google for Entrepreneurs Demo Day — a $100,000 investment from AOL co-founder Steve Case. Case invested $100,000 in four female-founded startups that participated in the pitch competition, notably highlighting them in his ‘Rise of the Rest’ concept – that great startups exist outside of the well-known Silicon Valley and New York areas.
