If you’re looking for some exciting events in Austin this week, look no further. Here are 5 events sure to fill your week with stimulating conversations and ideas.

Discuss Economics With the UT Mises Circle, April 27 at 7 p.m.

Are you looking to round out your day with a lively discussion of economics? Anybody interested in, or brainy enough to understand, the economics of cryptography is invited to attend the Mises Circle at UT to discuss.

PR Over Coffee With The Austin Business Journal, April 28 at 9 a.m.

General Assembly and the Austin Business Journal’s managing editor, Greg Barr will be chatting about how your small business can get big media exposure. Meet local journalists and see what they’re looking for when you’re pitching them stories about your company. 

What WordPress Users Need to Know Now About Web Accessibility, April 28 at 7 p.m.

This presentation will team up with Austin’s ‘Accessibility and Inclusive Design’ meetup group to explain, amongst other things, the importance of web accessibility. UT’s Webmaster, who is described as an 'Accessibility Evangelist,' will lead the presentation.

Longhorn Startup Demo Day, April 30 at 5:30 p.m.

Check out the companies started by undergraduate students at UT’s Longhorn Startup Lab this semester. There will be an interview of Michael Dell, Chairman and CEO of Dell, by UT Professor Bob Metcalfe. If that’s not enough, there’s a dessert reception after the presentations.

Radiolab Austin Detour, May 3 at 2 p.m.

Come for an app-inspired walking tour of Austin and end at booze-inspired bar. The walking tour will take about 75-minutes, and start at Dandy’s in downtown. Bring your phone, and be sure to download the Detour app before you arrive.
