6 Austin-based on-demand startups making your life way easier

Waiting is so 2014. Here at Built In Austin, we're loving all the new on-demand companies making sure we never waste a minute. From lawncare to massages to alcohol, almost everything you need is just a few taps away.

Favor

Using the Favor app customers can order delivery of items from retail stores and restaurants. In Austin, for example, there is a $5 surcharge for delivery of goods under $50, plus 5 percent fee on the cost of goods and a tip for the delivery runner. Prices for other cities vary slightly. All payments go through the app, which is linked to a customer’s credit or debit card. To date, Favor has raised $15 million.

Brewdrop

You can get almost anything delivered these days, including your favorite alcohol. The Austin-based company guarantees speedy delivery from their mobile app and boast a wide selection of craft beer and liquor.

Lawnstarter

This Techstars graduate is reinventing lawncare. LawnStarter connects homeowners with lawn care companies through their website and app, making mowing your lawn someone else's problem. You can use that extra half hour to take in some summer sun.

Spokefly

Spokefly makes owning a bike profitable and offers users the chance to rent good quality bikes all across town. The app allows bike owners to rent out their bikes and earn a fee for usage while allowing bike-lovers a chance to use bikes all over the city. These aren’t your typical bike-share clunky rides that limit users to 30 minutes; instead, peer-to-peer sharing allows app users to reserve the bike they want to use for the minute or the day.

Gone

Still need to get to that spring cleaning? Get Gone. Users can submit any items they want to sell, recycle, or have trashed on the app, and Gone creates a listing at a price the user agrees to and pushes it to the right marketplaces online. As soon as its sold they'll ship the box and label and the seller completes the process by simply packaging the sold items. If the item is to be recycled or trashed, the user will agree to a pickup and see the item picked up. Say goodbye to all that clutter.

RoverPass

For those of us who feel the need to get out into the great wide open and breathe some fresh air in the wilderness, a Google search doesn't always yield the greatest of results. Austin-based startup RoverPass plans to fix that problem with their easy service that books the best campsites and RV parks.
