Austin ranks among best metropolitan areas for finding a job
As an Austin resident, you can tell the tech scene is booming. With $993 million invested in 2014 and over $437 million spent on digital tech companies in Austin, it's a great place to be if you're building a tech company. It's an even better place to be if you want to join one of those growing companies, according to new data from CareerBuilder.

Austin ranked ninth on CareerBuilder's list of the best metropolitan areas to find a job. The list was based on unemployment rates, job listings, and several other statistics from the 150 largest metropolitan areas around the country.

A low employment rate, coupled with high job posting growth surely helped secure a spot in the top 10. Our neighbors in Houston faired better at the number 2 spot, but apparently you'll have to move to Utah to be in the best place to find a job. Provo-Orem, UT and Salt Lake City, UT came in first and fifth respectably and Raleigh, NC came in third.
