Techstars Austin is welcoming a new Managing Director today.

Amos Schwartzfarb will take over for Jason Seats as the leader of the accelerator program, bringing years of sales and strategy experience to the program. Schwartzfarb will leave his position as Co-Founder/Head of Customer Development at Joust, but continue to be actively involved on the board.

“I’m really excited to help Austin grow,” Schwartzfarb said. “I moved here eight years ago with the hope to have the biggest impact I could and I think this will allow me to really participate in the growth of the city in a major way.”

Prior to Joust, Amos served as Vice President of Customer Development for BlackLocus, which was acquired by The Home Depot in 2012. Amos was also co-founder of mySpoonful and also spent five years at HotJobs.com during their IPO and acquisition by Yahoo!. He has been a Techstars mentor since the program began in Austin.

Of Techstars’ startups overall, 88 percent are still active or have been acquired, and its 2014 summer class in Austin received an average of $1.9M in funding.

Seats launched the Austin program in 2013. He will continue working with Techstars in Austin, focusing on fund investing.
