Investors sink $6.75M into 3 Austin tech startups
Three Austin companies closed the short week with something to celebrate. Here are the startups who just secured millions in new capital.

Comfy: $1.25M

Bio: Living with roommates is never simple, but Comfy is helping where it can with tools to find student housing and split the bills once you move in. Earlier this year, the company released the app Unbill, whose nag-free bill sharing was received with positive user reviews.
 
News: ATX Seed Ventures and Dominion Ventures had invested in Comfy’s $500,000 seed round in July 2014. The two firms also contributed to the $1.25 million Series A round disclosed yesterday. [Texas Tech Pulse]

VolunteerSpot: $1.3M

Bio: VolunteerSpot takes the overhead out of coordinating volunteerism at schools for busy teachers and parents. Users of the online platform can sync calendars, sell tickets and take donations. 
 
News: AXA Strategic Ventures led the $1.3 million funding round, which VolunteerSpot plans to use for marketing to grow its user base. AXA will also contribute General Partner Manish Agarwal as a member of VolunteerSpot’s board. [Austin Business Journal]

XOR Data Exchange: $4.2M

Bio: XOR helps mitigate the threat of fraud and credit risks inherent in opening new accounts for financial services and telecommunications firms. XOR offers analytics tools to help companies calculate those risks and share data.
