Quantcast is hiring for its new Austin office at the Capital Factory, an effort it kicked off there with a recruiting event on Wednesday. The San Francisco-based digital ad and audience measurement firm said in a statement Austin was an obvious, cost-efficient choice when considering cities with “a bounty of high-tech talent and vibrant growth opportunities." Uber

The ridesharing platform is looking to aggressively expand its local operations with a recruiting campaign focused on East Austin, where Uber says one-third of Austin trips start or end. The company is partnering with The Austin Area Urban League, Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Dress for Success Austin, Greater Austin Black Chamber of Commerce and NAACP Austin to recruit 5,000 new drivers to its platform using everything from radio ads to human sign spinners at gas stations. Comfy

After disclosing a $1.25 million fundraising round earlier this week, Comfy has announced plans to expand its team behind Unbill, the app that help roommates seamlessly split utilities. Mozido

FinTech developer Mozido is expanding its payment platform offerings in Russia and China to allow cross-border e-commerce. It’s launching TradeEase, a tool for online merchants, under its PayEase subsidiary to capitalize on Russian consumer demand for products from Russian and Chinese merchants.
