ACL by the numbers: The number nerds at Numerous tally it up
Austin City Limits is finally upon us, and if you’re lucky enough to have a ticket—or an Airbnb to rent out—it’s probably going to be one of the biggest highlights of your year. But how big, exactly?

The number nerds at Numerous are glad you asked. They can’t resist tallying and timing the world around them. Co-founder and CEO Charlie Wood said the whole reason they created Numerous was to follow the most important numbers in your life and keep them all up to date, all in one place.

Wood was founding Numerous in his head before he was done running his last business, Spanning Cloud Apps. He needed instant access to all sorts of important information, but found himself having to switch between apps, log into different sites, and generally waste a bunch of time to get what he wanted.

“I realized that I had the same problem in my personal life,” he said. Between his Nest thermostats, weather apps and banking, his info was spread out all over the place. “What I needed was one app to connect me to all of that stuff.”

Wood ultimately stepped down at Spanning Cloud, right around the time a close friend and virtuoso iOS developer named John Scalo decided to leave Apple. Since they founded Numerous in 2013, 100,000 people have flocked to the service, which adds special channels for importing data all the time, for everything from Google Analytics, Stripe and Salesforce to special events like September’s Dreamforce conference.

Which brings us back to Austin City Limits.

“If you're lucky enough to be in Austin the next couple of weekends for ACL, some of your most important numbers will be the time until your favorite artists are performing,” Wood said. “So we added a new ACL Music Festival channel to Numerous with countdowns for the biggest headliners at the show.”

Wood’s picks start with Foo Fighters, who he saw play the week before at Dreamforce.

“I'm a huge fan, and can't wait to see them perform again,” he said. “Dave Grohl is a hero to every creative person who's had to start again—meaning all of us.”

Wood wanted to help festival goers keep tabs on their top picks while they're at ACL, so he created countdowns to some major headliners' sets.

You can scroll down to see the numbers Wood picked out of the lineup and download Numerous to your device to subscribe to the ACL channel. If you don't see the bands you plan to catch, you can create your own countdowns by dropping the set in your Google Calendar.

Stay hydrated and have fun at the show, Austin!
