Buy a round for BrewDrop — they’ve been acquired

There’s no shortage of alcohol delivery services in Austin, but the one at the top of our list just left town. Today, Austin-based BrewDrop announced its acquisition by delivery.com for an undisclosed amount.

BrewDrop Co-Founder Andrew Bell (pictured right) will join New York-based delivery.com as director of market development, leading the company’s Texas expansion in Austin, Dallas and Houston.

Bell will be the only BrewDrop employee to join delivery.com.

Both companies anticipate the move to expand delivery.com’s alcohol-ordering customer base by 10 percent. The company recently redesigned its alcohol ordering UX for desktop and mobile.

delivery.com CEO Jed Kleckner said Austin was a strong strategic fit for his company to grow in the alcohol delivery market.

“Since BrewDrop already dominates alcohol delivery in Austin, they’re the perfect partner for bringing delivery.com’s one-stop shop convenience to this key expansion market,” Kleckner said in a statement. “We’re glad to welcome BrewDrop into the delivery.com family and excited to start serving their loyal customers.”
