Every week, we bring you the best events in Austin tech. This week’s roundup includes talks on kicking off your tech career after college, a chance to pitch your startup to the press (specifically me) and celebrating Cinco de Mayo with a Built In Brews hosted by your friends at OwnLocal. Lightning Learning with Women Who Code Austin, Sponsored by RigUp, May 2 at 7:00 p.m.

Lightning talks will be 5–10 min on any topic pertaining to programming, technology, or your experience as a woman in technology.

PR Over Coffee: Meet & Pitch Colin Morris, Built in Austin Tech Reporter, May 3 at 12 p.m.

Come meet and pitch yours truly, the tech writer for Built in Austin. This is our first one-on-one with Built in Austin, which has “built” a very sizable reputation covering the tech and startup industry of Austin.

Austin iPhone Developer Group Meetup, May 3 at 7 p.m.

This group meets every month to network, present educational content, showcase apps and work, discuss iOS development, and share tip and tricks, while helping each other through bugs. This month, there will be two talks, featuring developers Caren Garcia and Louis Vera.

Built In Brews at OwnLocal, May 5 at 5:30 p.m.

We’re kicking off Spring with a Built In Brews at OwnLocal! What’s better than margaritas and a little tequila on Cinco de Mayo? Come hang with the OwnLocal crew, explore their new digs and meet the team supporting media companies across the globe.

We’ll be serving up some Austin favorites, featuring treats from Celia Jacob’s Cheesecake Experience, Easy Tiger, Salt & Time & Nothing Bundt Cakes and Antonelli’s Cheese Shop!
