Offering tuition reimbursement isn’t something every company can afford, but when they can, the result is palpable. Here’s a look at five local tech employers that prioritize ongoing education for employees.

Offering tuition reimbursement isn’t something every company can afford, but when they can, the result is twofold. Accenture conducted a study last year that found for every dollar companies spend toward employee tuition reimbursement, they gain $1 in return and save about $1.29 per employee due to lower churn and and smaller recruitment spend.

It’s a popular perk among major corporations like Apple, Deloitte, UPS and BP — and Austin, too, has its fair share of companies following in those footsteps. Here’s a look at five local tech employers that prioritize ongoing education for employees.

Aceable paves the way for new drivers to hit the road more efficiently by offering driver's ed courses conveniently over an app. To date, they’ve supported more than 400,000 in passing the test.

The learning perk: education stipend

Through custom learning, performance and communication programs, Alchemy Systems supports over two millions workers to mitigate workplace injuries, protect food and strengthen operations. Daybreak Games has a headquarters in San Diego, while its DC Universe studio is located here in town. And it’s their Austin office that develops role-playing games inspired by DC Comics. Both offices have some differentiating perks including poochie permission in San Diego and big screen movie watchings in the “Bat Cave” in Austin.
