Responsibilities

Your day-to-day (as an Ad Ops Programmatic Specialist, you’ll):

  • Traffic ads on Spiceworks using multiple ad server technologies
  • Ensure campaign implementation is well thought out to best achieve performance and media efficiency goals
  • Monitor campaign delivery against impression goals and Key Performance Indicators as established with the client
  • Oversee reporting, monitoring, and optimization of campaigns to ensure delivery performance benchmarks are met
  • Serve as internal champion and knowledge base for programmatic digital media executions
  • Develop and execute pilot strategies for off-network programmatic campaigns
  • Deliver insight into the impact of campaign delivery based on inventory constraints, run dates, and targeting expectations
  • Contribute to Spiceworks revenue growth by identifying new revenue opportunities and encourage planning teams to implement new and evolving programmatic solutions
  • Partner with sales specialists, sales strategists, and client success team to drive performance of campaigns on and off network
  • Create ongoing report generation and analyze key business metrics related to off-network programmatic efforts
  • Analyze campaign data to identify and capitalize on key drivers of performance from a delivery perspective
  • Stay current with industry technology, buying platforms, best practices, and the rapidly changing programmatic landscape
  • Work closely with Director of Display Media to implement and support key strategic data-driven initiatives
  • Support other areas of advertising operations as needed
Qualifications

Preferred specific knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Understanding of SPM, CPC, and CPA models
  • Experience with technical implementation of private marketplaces
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions
  • Experience quantifying opportunities and risks
  • Expertise in Excel and PowerPoint (specifically, the ability to create charts and graphs based on data analysis)
  • Highly organized with excellent follow-through
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Must demonstrate the ability to communicate the big picture and drill down to supporting details
  • Close attention to detail a must
  • Strong judgment skills; ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

What does it take to do this job?

 

  • 3+ years in the digital marketing and ad technology industry with a strong understanding of the programmatic landscape, existing and emerging ad technologies, ad serving, analytics, enterprise marketing, and big data
  • 2+ years working directly with ad technologies such as SSPs, DMPs, DSPs, Ad Exchanges, Ad Servers
  • Experience understanding the needs of programmatic buyers and what types of products meet their campaign needs
  • Ability to holistically understand a publisher’s digital assets and how they can be mapped to different buyer needs
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • High degree of creativity, self-motivation, and drive
  • Eagerness to work in a dynamic, rapidly-changing setting
  • BS or BA required (advanced degree a plus)
  • Occasional travel required
