As a Business Intelligence Architect at HomeAway - you'll play a key role in designing a world class BI solution from the ground up. You will be involved in building out our new reporting architecture including tool selection, infrastructure, and processes that will provide key insights in a standard, unified manner across all of the company globally. This effort will drive critical business decisions and support operations globally. 

Our goals are to create a single Business Intelligence data warehouse to create a single source to house data from different feeds across marketing, sales, finance, ecommerce and other areas. In order to do this we are investigating enterprise solutions that will work best in our environment so exposure to multiple tools like MicroStrategy, Microsoft SSAS, Cognos or other tools would be great. Other technologies we use here include ClickStream, Hadoop, Spark Splunk, and DataMeer to name a few.  

Responsibilities: 

- Drive technical architecture and Design BI solutions in a scalable manner globally 

- Serve as the Enterprise level Business Intelligence expert 

- Manage Business Intelligence products and solutions 

- Engage with customers, product managers, and various Engineering teams to understand business requirements for various initiatives and deliver BI solutions 

- Establish standards and best practices within BI space 

- Conduct design reviews and participate actively in code reviews 

- Evaluate new tools and technologies and work on POCs as needed 

- Work in a dynamic environment and juggle multiple projects 

Qualifications: 

- 5+ years of BI Architect experience in solution design at an Enterprise level 

- 10+ years of experience with various tools such as Cognos BI/Microstrategy, Microsoft technologies, and Tableau Strong understanding of dimensional warehouse models 

- 10+ years of experience using SQL 

- Experience working in large scale databases and performance optimization 

- Experience working with Clickstream data 

- Strong data modeling experience 

- Big data/Hadoop experience

- eCommerce Marketplace industry experience preferred 

- Exceptional communication skills - written, verbal and presentation skills 

- Bachelors Degree in Computer science or Engineering
