SUMMARY OF PURPOSE
The Cloud Operations Engineer’s primary responsibility is to provide the technical leadership and effective provisioning, configuring, operation and maintenance cloud infrastructure while embodying the Patch Values. He/she will participate in the technical research and development to enable continuing innovation within the infrastructure. This position is a leader in the technology ream and works closely with architects and developers to design and implement enterprise solutions.

Essential Functions

    • Infuse the Patch Values into your work ethic, every day and every interaction
    • Provide leadership and vision for continuous improvement to all technology teams
    • Command of one or more scripting languages (bash, Ruby, Python)
    • Supporting the public cloud infrastructure with Amazon’s AWS
    • Provisioning systems using Distributed Configuration Management Tools (Chef)
    • Provisioning systems in AWS using Terraform
    • Installing and configuring complex Windows Server 2008, .NET, and nginx environments
    • Supporting web enterprise applications on Tomcat, .NET, and C#
    • Supporting key enterprise hosted web applications
    • Provide monitoring and alerting support for key systems
    • Providing emergency after hours on-call support
    • Enforcing standards set by Kasasa’s security team and addressing security vulnerabilities
    • Enforcing industry standards and best-practices across development process and production implementation
    • Complex LAMP environment installation/configuration
    • Deploy Kasasa apps
    • Set up proactive monitoring and alerting to help identify and resolve potential issues
    • Troubleshooting and resolving environment issues with Load Balancer, Firewall etc.
    • Assess needs and design of new projects and incorporate them into the overall environment
    • Work closely with security team to ensure standards are met and vulnerabilities are addressed
    • Enforce standards and best-practices across development and Production
Position Requirements
    • BS Computer Science, BS MIS or equivalent experience
    • Linux and/or Windows Server – 4 years of experience
    • Virtualization – 4 years of experience
    • AWS or other public cloud provider - 1 year of experience
    • Iterative software development – 2 years of experience
    • Demonstrate ownership of solutions from conception through implementation and operation
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills
    • A proven ability to drive projects to completion
    • Must be legally allowed to work in the U.S.
