Position Overview

The Commercial Sales Representative is a team member of the uShip commercial group focusing on selling uShip’s marketplace offerings to small and medium size businesses. The role is instrumental in developing and qualifying leads, as well as selling and converting leads to customers. This is direct revenue generation role, and requires the sales rep to be an evangelist and the direct line to our commercial customers. You will learn everything about uShip, the transportation and logistics industry and take a deep dive into uShip’s marketplace and commercial product offerings, with a focus on Less-than-Load (LTL) marketplace sales. We will train you to succeed. Are you ready for the challenge?

Responsibilities:

  • Make 50-70 calls per day to build and manage a lead pipeline
  • Prospect into thousands of organizations via cold-calling, networking, e-mail/e-marketing, and utilizing Internet information sources
  • Qualify all sales opportunities based upon specific lead qualification criteria definitions
  • Sell uShip commercial value proposition to decision-makers across multiple industries at small and medium size businesses
  • Exceed weekly, monthly, quarterly assigned targets for revenue and sales activities (calls, quotes, demos)Contribute to every part of the acquisition sales lifecycle (customer database maintenance and data entry, correspondence, activity reporting and communications)

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 1-2 years experience in a similar telephone based sales role (technology, logistics or shipping a plus)
  • Positive and energetic phone skills, with excellent listening and writing skills
  • Thrives on multitasking while being very detail oriented
  • Self-motivated to learn and succeed in a results-driven environment
  • High energy, reliable team player
  • Extremely coachable and always open to feedback, learning and helping other team members
  • Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (email, phone system, MS Office)
  • Previous sales training and experience utilizing a CRM system a plusBachelor’s degree (or relevant work experience)
  • Eager to work in an entrepreneurial environment
