RetailMeNot is looking to add a Corporate Development Analyst in our office in sunny, downtown Austin. The Corporate Development team at RetailMeNot is responsible for all global mergers and acquisitions and identifying and developing strategic partnerships and new business opportunities. We are a very active team and work in a highly integrated fashion and with cross-functional leadership to source and identify potential acquisitions and partnerships, build business plans, valuation models, integration plans, and present proposals to the executive team and negotiate/close transactions.

As a member of a team, you will have day-to-day contact with executive team members, cross-functional leaders and potential partners. You will gain exposure to other groups through company networking and receive transaction experience very early in your career. The data you analyze and the research you provide will help determine the right recommendation for acquisition or partnership. You will be asked to not only perform data and financial analysis, but also understand the story behind the numbers, identify trends and patterns, and actively contribute your ideas. This person will play a substantial role in driving forward some of RetailMeNot’s most exciting growth opportunities.

Who You Are

  • Pre-MBA position; minimum 2 years’ experience in investment banking, consulting, business/corporate development
  • Deal experience a plus; comfortable with contract terms and negotiations
  • Bachelor’s Degree from a leading university (preferably Accounting or Finance)
  • Excellent computational and analytical abilities and keen attention to detail – Structured, logical and creative thinker, detail oriented and analytical
  • Exceptional communication skills in a variety of mediums – in person, over the phone, email, presentations, etc. – comfortable working cross-functionally, with people at multiple levels
  • Self-starter with a "can do" attitude, high energy and ability to prioritize and take ownership
  • Strong work ethic, fast learner, high bar for work quality and dedication to results
  • Advanced user of Excel and PowerPoint

What You'll Do

  • Support M&A projects and new strategic partnerships to accelerate RetailMeNot initiatives
  • Build detailed financial and revenue models to evaluate business partnerships and potential M&A transactions
  • Actively involved in each step from strategy/planning, prospecting, pipeline development, building business cases, defining value propositions, executing due diligence, reviewing contracts and drafting contract drafting, and implementation
  • Perform valuation analyses using various methodologies including trading comparables, transaction comparables and discounted cash flow
  • Analyzing data to forecast market trends, monitor competitors and build and manage various reports
  • Deliver preliminary research reports and opportunity sizing on new growth initiatives identified by company executives.
  • Understand and stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape and internal product-development efforts to provide management with insight to drive decision-making
