ResponsibilitiesYour day-to-day (as an DevOps Automation Engineer, you’ll):
- Design, develop, and implement automation tooling that enables the Spiceworks Operations team to deliver best-in-class services to internal and external users
- Work closely with development teams to determine requirements around automation tooling, configuration management, and deployment methodologies
- Analyze current systems and provide insight into how they may be further optimized
- Identify and correct deficiencies in existing automation tools
- Bring energy and passion to your work day in and day out
Qualifications: What does it take to do this job?
- Extensive (5+ years) experience in systems administration or development roles developing CI/CD pipelines in high-volume services delivery (web) environments
- Love coding/scripting solutions to increase efficiency of systems
- Experience with Linux systems administration
- Extensive experience with configuration management systems such as Puppet (preferred) or equivalent, Hiera, Ansible, Capistrano
- Experience with virtualized environments — Amazon AWS, CloudStack
- Extensive experience with continuous integration and build systems — Jenkins, Gitlab-CI, JFrog/Artifactory, Docker Hub
- Exposure to containerized environments — Docker, Kubernetes, ECS
- Ability to write clear documentation
