Who you are:

A highly motivated DevOps Engineer who wants to create and support software tools in awesome Austin, TX for Development, QA, Operations and the Business.

What you’ll do:

  • Support release cycles for all software products
  • Engineer automation and tools to safely build, integrate and deploy software at scale
  • Manage server infrastructure used for test and release automation
  • Architect preventative automation for common issues with deploying at scale
  • Manage risks and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule and quality
  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure deploys are delivered on time
  • Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams, including business, test automation, developers, and operations
  • Define and document software development best practices in regards to deployment and testing

What you definitely have:

  • 5 or more years of software engineering or devops experience
  • Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven curiosity and thirst for learning
  • A passion for making the delivery / deployment of complex enterprise software system a trivial push-button experience
  • Keenness to drive improvement by working with multiple cross-site teams
  • Development experience in any modern programming language (C#, PHP, Java, JavaScript, Powershell, Python, etc.)
  • Experience with good development practices (unit tests, code standards, etc.)
  • Database and data manipulation experience (SQL, noSQL, stored procedures, etc.)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD or deployment tools (eg. Jenkins, Go, Cruise Control)
  • Understanding of server administration is a plus
  • BS or BA degree required, preferably in Computer Science / Engineering

Mattersight seeks candidates authorized to work in the United States.  The DevOps Engineer role will be based out of Mattersight’s Austin, TX location.  Candidates should anticipate little to no travel.
