WHAT IS COOL ABOUT THIS JOB

As the Director of Events, you will be responsible and own an event from its inception through pre-event marketing and post-event reporting. You will have the unique opportunity to drive the planning and project management for all of owned WP Engine events globally!

THE DAY TO DAY
  • Establish team priorities, goals and success criteria
  • Supervise execution of event coordinators, providing feedback to team members to ensure the highest quality of event production
  • Establish preparation timelines and internal brief communication with event goals, participant responsibilities, priorities, post event reporting (financial reconciliation, lead input, SFDC campaign creation).
  • Manage budgets, vendor negotiation, swag inventory, shipment and warehousing
  • Identify opportunities for process and event management improvements and develop new policies regarding implementing new procedures
  • Integrate offline programs with online initiatives, including offers, reporting, SFDC integration, lead management, online event registration
  • Your efforts will encompass the WPE Brand Events, Wordpress Community Events, and Industry trade shows
YOUR EXPERTISE AND PASSION
  • 7-10 years of experience in physical and virtual event project management or trade show production.
  • Passion for Managing Details: You pride yourself in your meticulous attention to detail which may be the most important skill set for any event manager.
  • Self-Motivated with High Energy: You’re a self-starter who generates plans with minimal guidance. You thrive in a fast-paced environment where you work on several projects at the same time with tight deadlines, limited resources and cross-functional dependencies.
  • Budgeting: You have large-scale event budget management experience and the ability to track marketing expenses, manage resource requests, and quantify ROI.
  • Results Oriented: You always have your eye on measuring the business impact of every event and how it aligns with the overall marketing and communications strategy of a global organization. You are meticulous about reporting results, with working knowledge of Salesforce and tracking tools to assess program. You how
  • Leadership: You have experience leading event teams and the soft-skills required to organize and influence cross-functional teams contributing to events with speaker content, booth demos, etc. You have presentation skills to engage and get support from marketing leadership and internal teams.
