About this Position
This person owns and leads all aspects of product marketing function including GTM strategy, planning and execution. This is a highly visible leadership role that interfaces with all departments in the company including sales, marketing, product management and customer success.
PMM function owns messaging, launches, pricing, packaging, sales enablement, analyst relations, customer success enablement, technical marketing and customer research. The team plays an active role in other functions such as industry marketing, international GTM, customer evangelism, technology alliances and channel marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
- Build and manage product marketing team (coaching, day-to-day management, MBOs, content/plans review, career growth, etc.). Continue recruiting efforts to expand the team over time.
- Establish effective relationship and alignment with heads of sales, marketing, product management and customer success.
- Define effective strategy and planning for launches, messaging and sales enablement.
- Develop strategic goals for PMM dept/individuals for the year and quarter.
- Continuously learn and improve our PMM processes as we continue to grow and scale (more than doubling YoY)
PMM Function - Direct ownership
- Develop strong messaging as we continue to solve more problems for customers
- Plan and execute all product launches. PMMs are launch captains.
- Own strategy and content for sales enablement (product value, differentiators, pitch, etc.)
- Conduct customer and competitive research and gain better understanding of the evolving market (deliverables include sales training, competitive updates for PMs, etc.)
- Own pricing and packaging of all products
- Support channel programs through content and training
- Own analyst strategy and act as the subject matter experts (SMEs) for analyst briefings, strategic customer/sales calls, press inquiries, etc.
- Conduct win/loss interviews with sales and customers and share learnings with cross functional teams
- Continue maintaining a pulse on the needs of customers, market/vendor landscape, sales and security trends
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of managerial experience leading product management or product marketing teams. Preferably at fast growing security or enterprise focused SaaS companies.
- At least of 3 years of product marketing manager experience where you directly lead launches, developed content and interacted with analysts and customers.
- Strong technology background with emphasis on enterprise IT, mobile, cloud or security.
- MBA from a top tier school is desired but not required.
- Ability to manage and grow a team of rock star PMMs.
- Ability to keep it real and cool. Ability to prioritize projects, provide clarity, improve structure, deliver results and interact with executives effectively.
