Reporting to the COO, our Director of UX/UI Design is one who understands our product vision and is a leader in driving us toward it. This person brings inspiration and ideas that maintain our position at the helm of our industry. This person will cultivate, mentor, and lead a team of talented designers in creating an unparalleled customer experience while building products that delight our customers.  You’ll collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Marketing on a daily basis. 

What will your responsibilities be?

Lead the creative team and provide strategic product vision. Partner with the marketing and technical team leaders to develop a truly engaging product experience.  Build unity throughout our suite of products.  You are responsible for all parts of the design process, including problem definition, vision, approach, decisions, interaction design, user research and usability testing - ultimately it’s about creating the best user experience for our customers.

• Oversee UX, information architecture and visual design for mobile and web products
• Manage, grow and mentor team of 10+ UX and visual designers
• Be the voice of UX and heavily influence design of our products
• Hands-on design: Develop concepts, wireframes, and prototypes
• Gather key insights into customer behavior to find their unmet & unspoken needs
• Collaborate with Product Management to drive product strategy and the development roadmap
• Create clean, straightforward, innovative user interfaces
• Be the user-advocate by subjecting early-stage designs to usability testing and offering implementation suggestions from a user-centered perspective
• Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and stakeholders.
• Evaluate stakeholder, team, and user feedback, and implement findings through continuous iteration.
• Establish and promote digital design guidelines, best practices, and standards in coordination with marketing and brand initiatives.

What skills and experience do we expect from you?

• 8+ years of relevant work experience in product design, UX and visual design of consumer-facing products and enterprise software products
• 5+ years of design team leadership and management experience
• Portfolio showcasing strong UI/UX for both web and mobile products
• Experience working in a product organization, driving design from planning to release, and supporting continued design iteration
• Experience conducting User & A/B Testing
• Experience across all facets of human-centered design and user experience, spanning visual design, UX strategy, interaction design, user research/assessment and prototyping
• Experience working in an Agile development environment and working closely with development teams.
• Proficient with Adobe Creative Suite or Sketch (we use Sketch)
• Solid knowledge base of HTML, CSS and JavaScript
