About us: HomeAway has an exciting opportunity for a passionate, high energy Global Commodity Manager. HomeAway, based in Austin, Texas, is the world leader in vacation rentals with sites representing more than one million online bookable vacation rental homes in 190 countries, and is a part of the Expedia, Inc. family of brands.

The Global Commodity Manager will be an integral leader within the procurement team, reporting to the procurement manager in Austin. The position will work closely with business leaders, Expedia, external auditors and finance to support ongoing procurement activities.

Main duties include: A Global Commodity Manager (GCM) will be the primary interface between broad, cross-functional internal stakeholders and our external business partners. In this role, the GCM will work across multiple business divisions to lead the success of critical projects and drive accountability for closure of critical issues and operational challenges. The GCM role within the purchasing organization will require a number of skills, qualifications and attributes. This involves an in-depth understanding of the market, supplier sourcing, risk and performance management.

You will need to identify new opportunities and innovation and ensure that these are exploited. The GCM will be tasked with developing risk mitigation strategies through an appropriate supplier network while maintaining continuity of supply and reduce risk within the supply chain as a whole.

As the GCM you will be responsible for key supplier relationships, supplier identification, contracts and long-term agreements, leading major negotiations with our internal partners, and providing and communicating analysis of pertinent information.

You will recommend cost saving proposals, works with executive management to address all aspects of commodity management, including procurement support, commodity business plans, market trends assessment, pricing, and product availability. This position requires expertise in the world of Information Technology.

Responsibilities: • Coordinating and communicating the overall procurement strategy
• Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, lead negotiations of agreements with our legal team and owns contractual process to reach final approvals
• Acts as the liaison between internal and external partners to solve operational, contractual, legal, product, and functional challenges.
• Assist business with procurement process and tools including roll out of requisition workflow and global PO process.
• Strong managerial, problem-solving, lateral thinking, communications, project management, planning organizational and interpersonal skills
• Excellent relationship and influencing skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects
• Knowledge of the business and functional units supported, their products, services and processes and pertinent regulation impacting their delivery
• Successfully develop and manage the supply base to drive lowest total cost of ownership
• Develop and lead quarterly business reviews (QBR’s) for their specific commodities
• Evaluates supplier processes and monitors supplier performance to obtain lowest total supply chain costs and best overall product line offering.
• Crafts and maintains various reports and analyses in support of internal business owners and key stakeholders
• Works with Finance to assure timely resolution of payment issues and accurate tracking of productivity projects.
• Shown success interacting with peers, senior management, direct reports, and other functional areas to assure the product line offering is developed at the least cost.
• Experience evaluating current processes and developing sound recommendations for improvement.
• Other duties/projects as assigned.

Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree or 3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in sourcing and procurement
• 3-5 years of experience coordinating contracts and negotiating costs with suppliers
• 3-5 years of experience implementing and reporting supplier performance measurements
• Proficient utilization of procurement tools to ensure performance objectives are realized
• Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
