The Opportunity:
The role of the segment director is to drive an increase in gross booking value (GBV) and booking volume for the segment. This will require you build the marketing acquisition strategy and goals for the next 120 days and deliver the execution. You will work with the Analytics and Data Insights (ADI) team to understand the segment’s need and explore new visitors acquisition opportunities while working with brand and performance marketing teams to define and scope programs for the next 120.

- Build customer segments
- Align organization on the traveler journey and gaps
- Build and advocate the end to end traveler journey – from brand awareness to acquisition to repeat customer
- Define traveler value props and core messaging for every step of the customer journey, from dream to post stay – for product and marketing touch points
- Define and refine actionable customer segments based on new insights
- Feed into the dual brand strategy project
Profile/Skills:
- 10+ years internet, eCommerce experience in a global capacity
- Proven ability to articulate brand positioning, build enduring value proposition and proof points with lasting differentiation vs competition
- Ability to build a story that is relevant to a traveler segment and can be consistently rolled out
- Proven ability to manage to goals and exceed them
- Proven ability to create new teams and drive innovation, creating new play books for growth
- Deep expertise and proven success in positioning products and product portfolios
- Ability to partner with market research to drive significant learnings of our travelers
- Understanding customer needs better than customers do; customer centric judgment
- Proven success partnering with product and all marketing teams in different locations and countries to understand needs and successfully exceed those
- Excellent working relationship with market research, product management, marketing
- Strong analytical and communication skills

Culture
The HomeAway World Headquarters is located in downtown Austin, Texas. Employees love the proximity to restaurants, bars and retail — especially to the unofficial company cafeteria, the Whole Foods Market flagship store. The office space is also situated off of Lady Bird Lake, which has a fantastic hike and bike trail. HomeAway's four-story, 86,000-square-foot, mixed-use building was awarded Gold-level LEED certification in April 2010 for its use of eco-friendly materials. The design is vacation-themed and features a giant replica of the birdhouse from the HomeAway logo.
