Junior Project Manager
Amherst InsightLabs will be moving into a brand new space within our suite that will feature open collaborative work space with a modern design, gaming area, on premise fitness center, free snacks/beverages and daily catered lunches. Responsibilities:
- Work closely with business and functional areas in the organization, to help articulate technical solutions
- Work closely with Product Owners to maintain product backlog, assisting with prioritization and resolution of issues
- Participates in overseeing project implementation, team motivation, facilitates discussion, manages conflict resolution
- Ensure business application systems are developed in way that complies with architectural standards, established methodologies and practices
- Assure process compliance of application development with Project Management Office
- Manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery for technical projects assigned to you providing regular status updates to key stakeholders
- Use quantitative skills to manage data and build reports/dashboards using visualization software systems
- Create advanced PowerPoint presentations for internal and external audiences – charts, animation, status reporting, etc.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree; preference for quantitative majors: Computer Science, MIS, Physics or Engineering
- Software development project management experience: Will consider "fresh out" candidates with technical bachelor's degree or MBA that has an interest in pursuing a project management career
- Must be capable of managing multiple priorities effectively and efficiently with ability to perform under tight deadlines and demonstrate problem solving approach
- Strong analytical, organizational and time management skills
- Extreme multi-tasking capabilities with a “get things done” attitude and approach
- Proficient with MS office with above average to advanced skills in Excel and PowerPoint
- Working knowledge of tools like Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, Visio and/or Tableau is a plus
Desired but not required:
- MBA or MS degree in Computer Science, MIS, Operations Research, Engineering, etc.
- Demonstrated experience of successfully delivering multiple projects that fulfilled business and/or IT needs and priorities
- Experience with Agile (Scrum, XP, etc.) and thorough understanding of agile software development methodologies, values and procedures
- Thorough understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)
- Sound technical skills, experience managing systems integration projects involving interfaces of complex systems components with one another
- Experience in real estate capital markets or mortgages is a plus
