Manager, Small Business

Reporting to the Director, Small Business & Sales Development, you’ll leverage your sales expertise and leadership skills to both drive strategy and process and manage and motivate a team of inside sales representatives to achieve quotas and objectives, ultimately increasing conversion and enabling exponential revenue growth.
What You Will Do
- Establish sales and operational objectives and drive revenue growth through new small-business merchant acquisition
- Draw on established sales methodology to define, plan and execute selling strategies for merchants with up to $1M GMV that aligns with key revenue objectives
- Role model best practices and negotiate complex sales with stakeholders including peers, executive management, business and technical stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain accurate forecasts
- Lead the day to day operations of the team to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and scalability including building reporting and managing team metrics using SFDC
- Recruit, lead, manage, motivate, and coach team members to maximize their individual potential, contributions and professional growth
- Coach and mentor team leads and captains to develop leadership and sales process skills in others
- Influence sales and corporate strategies and practices by building excellent working relationships with leaders and colleagues across the business
- Propose innovative concepts and promote new ideas to grow monthly recurring revenue
- Solve issues where analysis of situations or data requires strong knowledge of organizational objectives
- Lead process improvements, cost reduction efforts and tool development to improve the lead delivery process, reducing complexity and cost, while improving sales output
- Manage multiple concurrent high visibility lead conversion projects with high degree of accuracy
- Strategically plan with business partners to identify future capacity requirements
- Collaborate with other sales channels to increase internal business partner satisfaction and ensure key deliverables are met
- Develop a thorough understanding of both BigCommerce (i.e. products, services, and value proposition) and of the key attributes of the best Small Business Merchants
- Partner with other department leaders to arrange periodic product and competitive trainings
- Contribute to the development and implementation of organizational policies ·
Who You Are
- 3+ years software, SaaS, or eCommerce sales experience with a focus consultative solutions selling
- 2+ years proven sales leadership excellence, preferably teams of 6+ at a $10M+ company (combined 5+ years sales and sales leadership experience)
- Proven team (and culture of winning) builder - Must have exceptional balance of driving top performance, building great culture and holding appropriate accountabilities.
- Bachelors Degree or equivalent
- Exceptionally High Achiever - Proven history of successfully, consistently leading teams to achieve quotas and objectives
- Coach - A high energy professional with a strong knowledge of sales methodology, positive attitude, and a deep desire to develop people and grow their careers in a supportive, yet accountable, work environment.
- Analytical - High degree of business acumen and ability to provide consistent, accurate sales forecasts.
- Solution Oriented - Ability to identify and creatively solve problems, including matters related to systems and sales processes.
- Proven Influencer - Excellent written/verbal communication and customer relationship skills are critical.
- Collaborative - Ability to forge strong bonds and work collaboratively with key external and internal partners such as Marketing, Business Development, Product, other Sales channels.

- eCommerce geek - Keen understanding of and sales experience at a SaaS or eCommerce company strongly preferred
- Attentive - Passion for client service and satisfaction and are able to manage sensitive information and numerous details with ease.
- Driven - Able to develop and successfully execute S>M>A>R>T>E (excellence) sales plans with a positive outlook and a clear focus on quality and business performance.
- Techie - Sound knowledge of Salesforce as well as strong Internet, email, and electronic document management skills. A basic understanding of HTML, CSS and internet technologies (shopping carts, web hosting, email and online marketing tools) a big plus.
