HomeAway is hiring for a Software Engineering Manager to lead the Traveler Home Team which manages bookings, profile pages, favorite lists and communications for travelers using the platform. We desire someone that is passionate about building and leading a world class development team and is well versed in building intuitive B2C web applications built for velocity and scale on top of our service-oriented architecture.

Requirements:- Experience managing an engineering team in a fast paced web company
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Hands on with 7+ years developing Java based consumer facing web applications (Spring MVC, Spring WebFlow, Backbone, Bootstrap) including RESTful APIs and Service Oriented Architecture
- Commitment to quality
- Track record of delivering quality software using industry best practices in all aspects of the software development process
- Experience working with QA, product management, customer service and other stakeholders in an Agile environment
- Exceptional customer relationship skills including the ability to discover the true requirements underlying feature requests, recommend alternative technical and business approaches and lead engineering efforts to meet aggressive timelines with optimal solutions
