About Us:

Have you ever had the opportunity to impact the lives of millions of people in a meaningful way and help them enjoy time away with their friends and families building memories?

That is what we do here at HomeAway.com, an Expedia Inc. company. We are the leading vacation rental website in the world with more than one million online bookable vacation rentals. Our mission is to make every vacation rental in the world available to every traveler in the world through our online marketplace and we're committed to helping families and friends find the perfect vacation rental to create unforgettable travel experiences together.

The Opportunity

The product manager, authentication and authorization, will be responsible for the login and permissions experience for both HomeAway’s travelers and partners (property owners and property managers). HomeAway needs to confidently authenticate customers who use its platform in order to ensure a trustworthy marketplace, without introducing too much friction into key flows. HomeAway also needs to provide partners with new features like multi-user access and role based access control that will make managing their business easier.

To achieve these goals, we’re looking for a product manager who can drive a product strategy and test-and-learn execution roadmap to decide … When should we require log in? Which social logins are worth adding? How could we optimize our login UI? When should we leverage an identified state instead of an authenticated state? Should we consider two-factor authentication for travelers? How deep does our feature set need to be for partner role based access control? and more.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the product vision and planning and drive the product roadmap
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders to research requirements
  • Make recommendations regarding policy changes
  • Work closely with user experience designers to research, define, and test UI

  • Lead competitive watch activities to identify gaps and opportunities to improve the product
  • Collaborate with the business intelligence team to define, track and report on key metrics
  • Communicate broadly on decisions, progress and plans

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of product management experience
  • Familiarity with common fraud vectors preferred -- including phishing, spear phishing, proxy attacks, man-in-the-middle attacks, replay attacks, and sessions hijacking attacks -- and their mitigation/prevention/countermeasure strategies.
  • Familiarity with risk quantification and risk-based approaches preferred, including device fingerprinting, scoring strategies, machine learning, two factor authentication, biometrics and behavioral biometrics, rules and risk engines.
  • Familiarity with open identity standards preferred, including OAuth 2, SAML, OpenID Connect and SCIM

  • Experience with online travel and/or consumer marketplaces preferred
  • BS or BA in related field or equivalent work experience
  • Must be willing to travel 5% Internationally

Benefits:
