Vyopta is currently seeking a full-time QA Engineer to join our growing development team in Austin, TX.  Vyopta is a SaaS monitoring and analytics company specializing in products for video collaboration networks. Headquartered on the greenbelt in Austin, Texas, Vyopta serves the leading financial, technology, healthcare, higher education, and government institutions globally.

The QA Software Engineer is an essential role responsible for analyzing and testing our industry-leading, SaaS based analytics solution. Daily activities will include reviewing requirements and specifications, designing test cases, and performing QA tests throughout the entire software lifecycle. Ultimately, this individual will have the opportunity to help define and shape Vyopta’s overall QA testing strategy. 

The ideal individual will demand a high standard for excellence when building and executing test cases. We are seeking an individual who is passionate about collaborating with developers and other team members to ensure our products are fully tested and working perfectly. Ability to think outside of the box will be critical when assisting the QA team in developing and transitioning to an automated testing process.

Responsibilities

• Safeguard and maintain the quality of Vyopta products and solutions through hands-on quality assurance testing. 
• Create and execute manual test plans and test cases.
• Develop and maintain test environments and test automation.
• Generate well documented bug reports to track outcomes of each test result.
• Work and communicate effectively with developers to explain test outcomes and guide them to understanding exit criteria.
• Plan and perform functional, load, and performance testing.
• Provide valuable inputs when reviewing requirement documents and technical specifications.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or other related field. 
• 2+ years of professional experience in enterprise application testing, including test execution, test case design, and automation.
• Familiar with agile process, quality estimate, QA testing process, and test frameworks. 
• Proficiency with HTTP, SQL, and at least one scripting language such as Python.
• Ability to work on multiple platforms (Windows and Linux). 
• Familiar with programming language such as C#.
• Knowledge of performance testing and pressure testing. 
• Test lab system administration experience (Windows security, Active Directory, Domain controller, DNS server, etc.).

Nice to Haves

• Experience with Microsoft Test Manager.
• Experience with automated Black Box testing of Windows services.
• Working basic knowledge of video and unified communications industry.
