Job Overview

The Retail Sales Representative is a team member of the uShip sales group focusing on selling uShip’s marketplace offerings to personal and business shippers. The role is instrumental in helping new customers successfully utilize the uShip marketplace for their shipping needs. Whether they need to ship a car, boat, motorcycle, tractor, freight or other items, you will support new customers, while developing repeat shipper leads for the commercial sales team. This is a direct revenue generation role, and requires the sales rep to be efficient, knowledgeable, professional, and a problem solver for our customers. You will learn everything about uShip, the transportation and logistics industry and take a deep dive into uShip’s marketplace and product offerings. We will train you to succeed. Job Responsibilities

  • Make 50-70 calls per day to new customers
  • Explain the uShip marketplace offerings to customers, and help them succeed with their initial booking
  • Generate repeat business shipper leads by qualifying new customers
  • Support multiple partner channel sales, and test new verticals while following the standard operating procedure for each call campaign
  • Participate in regular training and team building activities
  • Work cross-functionally with other groups through customer feedback that will help uShip improve its offerings and increase customer success
  • Exceed daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly targets for revenue and sales activities (calls, conversions, leads)
  • Contribute to every part of the customers sales lifecycle (customer database maintenance and data entry, correspondence, activity reporting and communications)

 

Our Ideal Candidate

  • 0 to 4 years of experience in a similar telephone based sales role
  • Positive and energetic phone skills, with excellent listening and writing skills
  • Thrives on multi-tasking while being very detail oriented
  • Self-motivated to learn and succeed in a results-driven environment
  • Highly energetic, reliable team player
  • Extremely coachable and always open to feedback, learning and helping other team members
  • Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (email, phone system, MS Office)
  • Previous sales training and experience utilizing a CRM system a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Eager to work in an entrepreneurial environment
