Job Summary:

As a Sales Development Representative (SDR) at Phunware, you will play a key role in building out the sales and marketing engine that supports our fast-growing business. Your primary focus will be supporting our lead generation efforts and our Business Development Executives (BDEs).

An ideal candidate will need to be a self-starter who can easily adapt to and effectively use Phunware sales processes and tools, with the ultimate goal of enabling our BDEs to uncover more opportunities. 

The SDR role is designed to be a stepping-stone for those who want a career in sales. Your secondary objective will be to train to step into a BDE role when you are ready. You will work in partnership with the BDE team to build sales pipeline through lead qualification and appointment setting for early-stage sales cycle support.

Responsibilities: 

  • Research accounts, identify key players, generate interest and develop accounts to stimulate opportunity
  • Learn and demonstrate a fundamental understanding of Phunware’s technology and target markets
  • Use of Salesforce.com extensively to maintain accurate activity, contact and account information for all customers and prospects while ensuring data quality and cleanliness
  • Meet and exceed daily and weekly assigned metrics
  • Work with the lead generation team to identify the best outbound campaigns and strategies
  • Understand who Phunware’s competitors are within the mobile industry
  • Support BDEs with lead generation efforts

 Qualifications:  

  • Must be living in the Austin, TX area or be able to self-relocate
  • Customer-oriented background required (such as sales, support, or customer service)
    • Previous sales experience preferred, but not required
  • Ability to understand complex SaaS-based tools and be coachable
  • Team player who possesses a desire and ability to work in a fast-paced, goal-oriented, high-growth sales environment
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Proficient with standard corporate productivity tools (email, voicemail, MS Office)
  • Salesforce experience a plus
  • Determination to succeed
  • College degree preferred, but not required
