WP Engine is growing our security team, and we are looking for smart and technical individuals to contribute to our team’s offensive, defensive, and research based security model with an emphasis on modern container technology. As a Senior Security Engineer you will have the opportunity to leverage your deep security and expertise to design and implement advanced security solutions to protect WP Engine and our customers.

At WP Engine security is hugely important. Security Engineers at WP Engine play a crucial role in ensuring that our company and our customers remain secure in all aspects. As an engineer in this role, you will be encouraged and empowered to construct automated, creative, and innovative security solutions utilizing a variety of techniques, data sources, and modern security tools. You will be heavily involved with architecture, development, and security modeling surrounding cutting edge container and orchestration technologies supporting build modern scalable solutions.

THE DAY TO DAY

• Create technical security solutions through coding and automation
• Perform research to stay informed with engineering and security best practices surrounding container development and deployment
• Analyze trends and threats identified in the security ecosystem
• Provide thought leadership and guidance surrounding container based * architecture design
• Work with open and closed source security tools and technologies
• Being a part of a passionate and collaborative team focused on challenging each other to be better

YOUR EXPERTISE AND PASSION

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or a related field) OR equivalent experience
• 3-5 years experience in a security engineering role and 5-10 years experience in software development or related field
• Working knowledge and experience with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience with secure coding practices, ethical hacking, and threat modeling
• Knowledge of UNIX, Linux, and OS X operating systems
• Experience working with industry standard security tools
• Experience with Kernel security - SELinux, AppArmor
• Experience with application security and secure network architectures
• Knowledge of network and web related protocols

CERTIFICATIONS A BONUS

• OSCP: Offensive Security Certified Professional
• CEH: Certified Ethical Hacker
• ECSA: EC-Council Certified Security Analyst
• GSEC / GCIH / GCIA: GIAC Security Certifications
