Description:
As a Senior Accountant you will work under the supervision of the Director of Accounting. The Senior Accountant will take the lead on closing the books each month and aid in managing Opcity’s staff accountants. This person will also maintain financial reports, records, and general ledgers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage Opcity’s monthly close process including monthly schedules and journal entries
- Responsible for entries and overall maintenance of timely and accurate Quick Books entries, database and account registers
- Assist the Director of Accounting in managing and training staff accountants
- Assist the Director of Accounting in developing correct accounting methodology for new revenue streams as Opcity expands
- Prepare reports and other analysis as needed on financial health of organization
- Other duties as assigned by management
What We Like To See / Measures of Success:
- Master’s Degree in Accounting preferred
- At least three (3) busy seasons in an audit department at an accounting firm required
- Strong knowledge of Accrual Accounting practices, principles and activities
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and deliver results in an efficient manner

- PC Proficiency – Quick Books, Other Accounting Applications, Excel, Word, Powerpoint required and Access or other databases also desirable

Working Conditions
- Hours generally are weekday, regular work hours
