Job Summary: 

The Senior DevOps Administrator role is a critical one in our organization and DevOps team to ensure that we deliver best of class platform and application management.

This position requires the ability to work in a wide variety of hosting environments and technology stacks, both in self managed collocation facilities and cloud infrastructures. The ideal candidate is ready and able to take on 20+ billion requests a month, Petabyte scale clusters, application and platform life cycles, and all the challenges that come their way. 

This position requires an equal mix of strong technical skills, cross-functional development team interaction, and the ability to excel in a fast paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, fantastic attitude and be comfortable tackling any challenge set before them.

Responsibilities: 

  • Accountable for 24x7x365 operations of our applications and infrastructure
  • DevOps interactions across multiple engineering teams and platform and product infrastructures
  • Big Data (Hadoop ecosystem) infrastructure support
  • On-Call pager duty
  • Application and platform release management and maintenance
  • Manage through and appropriately address both internal and customer support escalations

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a leading college or university
  • 5+ years of Linux/Unix systems administration experience in a high scale environment
  • Expert knowledge of OS and networking troubleshooting
  • Extensive experience with monitoring tools such as Nagios
  • Consistent track record for delivering commitments on time and with minimal supervision
  • Experience in cloud infrastructure and self-hosted environments
  • Outstanding communication skills - both written and verbal
  • Collaborative in nature and with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to interact across a spectrum of development teams - from platform to client side application
  • Strong problem solving skills with an owner mentality

Desirable:

  • Experience with Cloudera
  • F5 Firewall experience
  • Strong working knowledge of VMWARE
  • Cisco CCNA or above knowledge
  • 2+ years experience with Amazon AWS
  • Experience with mobile applications, mobile software and / or networking (i.e. TCP/IP, HTTP)
