Senior IT Manager
BigCommerce, named a "Best Place to Work" in Austin in 2017, is seeking a driven Senior IT Manager to join our team to ensure that our core business processes are supported, maintained, and continuously improving. As a leader, you will manage a global team and work with other departments to develop solutions that meet the needs of our ever evolving business to ensure our employees have the best work environment. You’ll also be responsible for the daily performance and availability of the organization's network. This position has a huge potential for growth, and you’ll be an integral part of optimizing BigCommerce’s office infrastructure.
What You Will Do
- Perform periodic review and evaluation of employees, managing necessary performance issues, training requirements, coaching, and goal setting
- Build strong intradepartmental relationships
- Build and maintain strong vendor/contractor relationships
- Plan and manage small to large IT projects
- Ensuring clarity around priorities and goals for the entire functional area
- Ensure Team and Systems stay current with industry best practices
- Advocate process and solutions for continuous improvement
- Establish working schedules, manage time off to ensure appropriate coverage for operating workloads
- Manage a global team of System and Network Engineers
- Ensure uptime and optimal performance of network, applications, and conference rooms
- Evaluate infrastructure and recommend improvement to keep pace with growth
- Manage hardware refreshes and upgrades
- Manage maintenance of servers and network
- Manage technology component of office builds
- Manage health and activity dashboards for the office
- Manage alert and escalation process
- Manage asset tracking and inventory
- Build reports, dashboards, and scorecards to ensure the our system’s health
Who You Are
- Bachelor or Master's Degree in Information Technology, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- 8+ years of IT Management experience
- Strong project management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Extensive experience in managing through a crisis
- Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
- Fosters team collaboration
- Relationship building

- BGP experience
- Excellent knowledge of
- PC, MAC, and Linux operating systems
- Active Directory, Domain Controls, Radius Servers
- OKTA SSO
- Google Application Suite
- Google Hangouts, Lifesize, and GotoMeeting
- Microsoft Group Policy Management Console, JAMF
- Networking: switches, routers, WAPs
