Senior Manager, Partner Marketing
BigCommerce, named "Best Place to Work" in Austin, TX in 2017 is looking for a Senior Manager, Partner Marketing, who will create and drive our marketing strategy for BigCommerce’s Design and Solution Partners (DSP) as well as lead the strategy and communications for programmatic partners, as part of our company’s long-term growth strategy of engaging and growing our community of third-party partners. We work with the best ecommerce designers, developers and marketers in the world to help our merchants succeed, and we are actively growing our ecosystem of partners, a strategic component of our long-term success.
You will be responsible for creating and executing marketing programs that excite and grow our partner community and accelerate revenue growth via our partners. You will work closely with the Channel Sales team and leadership to deliver high impact co-marketing strategies, joint pipeline acceleration campaigns, and other types of marketing initiatives. You will be leading marketing activities that drive acquisition of new DSP partners on our platform, communicate benefits of our platform to our partners and their customers, and deliver co-marketing revenue-generating campaigns via partners. The position requires a blend of abilities including building and managing relationships; creative thinking on strategies and programs, managing marketing development funds and budgets, and ensuring programs are measured and prioritized based on key business objectives.
Ultimate success in this role has you:
- Defining the strategy to win in the DSP channel - what’s the right mix of acquiring new partners, driving engagement with existing ones, etc.
- “Marketing to” partners:
- Understanding how the merchant value prop of BigCommerce translates to a value prop for why DSPs should refer merchants
- Enabling our partners to better understand the market potential for eCommerce within their SMB and MM client base
- “Marketing through” partners:
- Utilizing all available marketing resources (blogs, press release, email, training materials, landing pages, ebooks, etc.) to educate our partners' clients on our value proposition
- Gathering competitive intel through our partners to ensure our marketing materials improve in quality and reflect the current state of the market
- Aligning with our partners on predefined success metrics, driving marketing initiatives to exceed these goals
- Developing a world-class, high performing team
What you’ll do
- Working closely with the Channel Account Manager (CAM) team and leadership, develop a growth plan and a Go-to-Market strategy that drives joint success, enabling BC and our partners to exceed revenue and store acquisition goals
- Define and partner with channel leaders to implement integrated campaigns including email, digital, in -product, events and thought leadership content for both through and to partner marketing activations.
- Lead the creation of joint value / co-marketing material:
- Joint solution white papers, collateral, marketing and sales presentations
- Partner sales enablement kits; scalable on-demand partner training
- Marketing resources suitable for use by channel partners with their clients
- Lead the execution of partner marketing and awareness programs; including partners in Bigcommerce events, media relations, social media and community awareness programs
- Champion our partners within Bigcommerce ensuring we deliver the best partner experience in the eCommerce industry
- Be the expert on how our programs are doing at driving successful business outcomes.
- Facilitate data-driven improvement sessions and implement the results from cross-functional ideation.
- Lead, inspire, manage, and mentor a team of marketers on Go-to-Market execution to drive revenue and acquisition goals.
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the team to ensure effectiveness, efficiency and scalability including building reporting and managing team metrics.
- Build a culture of accountability and crossing the finish line, while maximizing each direct report’s individual potential and professional growth as well as ability to function effectively as a team.
Who you are
- Experienced
- 7+ years of software / technology marketing experience, focused on partner marketing
- Rock Star Marketer with an amazing portfolio of partner campaigns
- Proven experience leading cross-functional teams, creating success and instilling best practices
- Advanced level experience with marketing automation systems and Salesforce.com
- BS/BA in Marketing, or related field required; MBA preferred
