As a Senior .Net/C# Software Developer, you’ll be part of our Cloud Apps & Tools development team. In this highly-collaborative environment, you’ll be working on brand new products and will have the opportunity to mentor other developers, help make architectural decisions and drive product direction, and grow as a software engineer.
ResponsibilitiesYour day-to-day (as a Senior .Net/C# Software Developer, you’ll):
- Contribute to the design and development of product features
- Help build out Spiceworks as a development platform
- Work directly with our growing community of millions of IT pros and collaborate with experienced developers who are experts in the industry
- Showcase logic/solution-driven thinking
- Write and code Unit Tests
- Take the initiative in a team leader role
- Work with IT and other development teams to build cross-team functionality and troubleshoot issues
Participate in activities such as planning and design meetings, infrastructure and architecture discussions, retrospectives, and other required process activities
What does it take to do this job?
- Minimum of 7 years' of experience in Software Development with at least 5+ years of demonstrable Java or .Net/C# experience
- Expert in a *nix environment (Linux or OSX), with fluency on the command line
- Experience with distributed software (native or web app)
- Experience solving large application and user level problems such as performance and scalability
- Experience with multithreading
- Experience with web security
- Knowledge and experience in SQL databases and SQL
- Lots of debugging experience
- Experience with Tomcat or IIS is a strong plus — experience with LAMP, PEEP, or WIMP stacks is even better
BS or BA in math, engineering, computer science or related field is preferred
