Summary:
- BigCommerce is looking for a talented Network Engineer to join our growing team. This Engineer will be responsible for ensuring the maximum possible service availability and performance for BigCommerce internal network and connectivity to SaaS tools. You will be responsible for Design and Implementation of our network. Design and implement a world class network infrastructure; Establishes and maintains network performance; troubleshooting network problems.
What you’ll do:
What You’ll Do- The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for ensuring the maximum possible service availability and performance for the Bigcommerce internal corporate network and connectivity to mission critical SaaS tools.
- Security of internal assets and proprietary information is a primary concern of this project.
- Design and implement an international ready network infrastructure, with the ability to support offices on 3+ continents.
- Establish and maintain network performance by troubleshooting network problems.
- Key contributor in the Bigcommerce network refresh project.
- Design and build out improved internal network for four offices worldwide.
- Design and build uptime monitoring and alerting, including intrusion detection and prevention.
- Design and build security audit procedures and reports.
- Gain sign-off from IT, Network and Security leads.
- Participate in Daily Stand-Ups.
- Define, document and enforce system standards according to industry best practices and real world functionality.
- Maximize network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with others on network optimization.
- Secure network system by establishing and enforcing policies; defining and monitoring access.
Who you are:
- 7+ years experience support supporting large Office Networks
- Industry Recognized and/or Certified, e.g. CCNA, CCNP
- Expert in Firewalls and VPNs: On Perm and SaaS
- Expert in Network Monitoring
- Expert is Disaster Recovery and High Availability for key Office Services
- Expert in securing SaaS, e.g. G-Suite, GitHub, Salesforce, Marketo, Zuora,
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, LADP, and Radius Services
- Good written and oral communication
- Works will in a small team
Experience:
- Problem Solver with the following experience; LAN Knowledge, Proxy Servers, Networking Knowledge, Network Design and Implementation, Network Troubleshooting, Network Hardware Configuration, Network Performance Tuning, Project Management.
- 7+ years experience supporting large Office Networks
- CCNA Certified
- CCNP Certified or equivalent experience
- Expert in Firewalls and VPNs: On Prem and SaaS
- Expert in Network Monitoring
- Expert in Intrusion Detection and Prevention
- Expert in Disaster Recovery and High Availability for key Office Services
- Expert in securing SaaS, e.g. G-Suite, GitHub, Salesforce, Marketo, Zuora,
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, LDAP, and Radius Services
- Good written and oral communication
- Works well in a small team
- Can be given tasks and deadlines, and can be counted on to meet them
