WP Engine is seeking a Senior Product Manager for its Research & Development team! In this mission-critical role, you will be responsible for ownership of an entire product line within our portfolio of product initiatives. We’re looking for someone who has demonstrated excellence in taking great ideas and turning them into real results, that both delight customers and drive measurable impact to our business.

Successful candidates will have a solid sense for how various kinds of technology can be applied to the benefit of the business and our customers. They will be meticulous and relentless in pursuit of a well-optimized and successful product. They are comfortable in managing both the day-to-day details and the overall strategy of their products. They will also have natural leadership skills and an interest in working with junior team members and throughout the organization to build passion for our products and our business.

• Ownership and synthesis of market opportunities into a detailed, specific and prioritized backlog for your product line.
• Creation of business cases for new opportunities that you can prove will further our business, and pitching those opportunities to executive leadership.
• Identification of opportunities to improve market position and reduce time-to-market through strategic technical partnerships.
• Working with junior team members to drive execution of the product line strategy, and to ensure we fulfill our desired outcomes.
• Partner with early adopter customers to drive pilot engagements and ensure the product is viable from a market standpoint.
• Serve as the expert and evangelist for products and features you own and drive.
• Proactively and continuously build on your domain expertise by reading industry blogs, reports, and other sources of knowledge so you develop a solid sense of the latest technologies available to our business.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Product Manager, with a proven track record of driving business results for products you have managed.
• Mastery of driving opportunities through the product lifecycle, from building business cases, to identifying and managing requirements, to execution and optimization.
• Experience with a multitude of web infrastructure technologies, such as cloud hosting, web stack architecture, big data, APIs, and others.
• Strong passion and experience working with UX designers to create delightful and engaging user experiences.
• Ability to build trust and rapport with agile development teams and our team of technical architects.
• Excellent communication skills at all levels of an organization.
• Interest and aptitude to mentor junior team members and lead through example.
• A track record of successfully managing engagements with customers.
• Strong analytic and problem solving skills.
• Ability to think and execute at both strategic and operational levels.
