HomeAway is looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is experienced with back end development to join our Traveler Conversion development organization. 

At HomeAway we bring millions of families together with a whole house vacation rental experience. Traveler Conversion is responsible for facilitating billions in vacation rental bookings annually and matching travelers with their ideal vacation home. As part of the team you will be responsible for building features and leading the development of patterns for velocity and scale.

Any engineer in Traveler Conversion can turn a hypothesis into a resulting increase of hundreds of millions in financial transactions. Our software is built for scale, we use state of the art technology, and take a scientific approach to product.

Candidate Profile:- Bachelor's Degree or higher, preferably in Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- 3-5 years overall development experience, with direct experience delivering a consumer-facing web application
- Results oriented, self-managed individual - proven track record of delivering on your estimates with minimal oversight
- Leads by example in all aspects of software development -simple, elegant, scalable, well tested, documented
- Strong software development skills (configuration management, issue tracking, estimation, Agile/Scrum)
- Rapid testing advocate and expert
- Experience with large distributed applications is a plus as is building/operating highly available systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Quick learner and great team player
- Solid understanding of character encoding issues

Qualifications:- Experience in Java web application development (Java 8, Spring, SQL, REST, Maven, etc.)
- Experience with testing frameworks (Junit, Mockito, Jasmine, etc.)
- Experience with a software delivery platforms (TeamCity)
- Experience with SCM tools (git, github)
- Experience with client-side technologies is a major plus (JavaScript, Backbone, JQuery, CSS, HTML5, Bootstrap, Node, RequireJs, HandleBars, etc.)
