Job Overview

uShip is seeking a talented individual to join our team as a full time Senior Systems Administrator. This individual will be a part of the uShip Infrastructure team. Job Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux servers.
• Support corporate and remote offices as well as highly available data center environments.
• Responsible for security patching and updating of servers on a monthly basis or as needed.
• Responsible for backups, documentation, and research.
• Available to participate in on-call rotation
• Able to work nights, weekends, or as needed (on a limited basis) to resolve problems or complete projects.
• Reports to the director of IT 

Job Requirements:

• 10 years of experience as a system administrator working with Linux and Windows.
• Experience with complex configuration of Active Directory.
• Ability to troubleshoot systems and software that are unfamiliar.
• Solid understanding of networking and firewall concepts.
• Basic knowledge of VMware, SANs, scripting languages, and Iptables.
• Desire to learn about new or existing technology.
• Ability to communicate in a timely and effective manner.
• Able to work within a small team and independently on projects. 

Preferred skills:

• Proficient in at least one scripting language i.e. Python, PHP, Shell, Perl, Batch, etc.
• VOIP phone system and Asterisk knowledge a plus.
• WSUS, WDS, Exchange, IIS, and DFS experience helpful.
