Senior Technical Project Manager, Web Team
BigCommerce named a “Best Place to Work” In Austin in 2017 is seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to join our team! You’ll work closely with a dynamic Marketing, Design, and Engineering team to deliver a world-class site experience for our clients and prospects who visit the BigCommerce marketing website - our primary vehicle for new client acquisition. This person will partner with demand generation to drive growth KPIs, conversion optimization, and integrations with various business applications. Collaboration with Engineering to deliver continuous improvements to the web platform on speed, scalability, and ease of use will also be key to this role.
What you’ll do
- Dig deep into project requests to develop scopes and objectives
- Gather input from all relevant stakeholders and ensure technical feasibility
- Translate stakeholder needs into actionable user stories for a co-located engineering team
- Manage multiple medium-sized projects or a large-scale project from beginning to end
- Coordinate deliverables from various internal teams for the flawless execution of projects
- Track project performance to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals
- Track project schedule and associated prioritization and trade-offs while managing expectations with stakeholders
Who you are
- Minimum of 5+ years of technical project management experience, preferably in a web or SAAS company.
- You’ve proven you can execute high-profile projects in a fast-paced and cross-functional environment.
- You’re energetic and creative - both key characteristics that describe you and the projects you manage. You have a bias for action and make things happen.
- You think analytically and use data to inform/defend your decisions.
- You have a technical background, or have a technical orientation, enough to collaborate with engineers to understand the pros and cons of different technologies, design and potential solutions.
- You get excited about tackling big, complicated and often ambiguous problems.
- You like to roll up your sleeves and get into the weeds of your projects, including writing user stories, and the day-to-day running of a high performing Agile team.
- You have outstanding organizational skills and get a rush out of creating order from a jumble of requests.
- You are a powerful influencer, and people like working with you even if they might disagree with you.
- You are an outstanding communicator who is comfortable interacting with a diverse group of technical and non-technical stakeholders, including: senior executives, sales, marketing, engineering, operations and vendors.
- You have a passion for ecommerce, technology and the internet with a strong awareness of emerging web trends.
- Undergraduate degree required.
