ABOUT THIS POSITION
Aceable is blowing up, and we need to grow our design team to make sure we look good while doing it. You will be a big part of developing our UX strategy going forward. You’ll conceive and conduct user research, create user personas, map out user journeys, and translate findings into wireframes, user flows, and prototypes. You will also implement designs and iterate on them based on customer feedback.
ABOUT ACEABLE
Aceable (composed of Aceable.com and AceableAgent.com) is a mobile education platform that focuses on creating affordable, engaging, and convenient educational content across all devices. Built by former teachers, NASA engineers and those passionate about education, the Austin-based team is obsessed with helping people with life’s certification challenges. After launching its first mobile app to provide accredited driver’s ed courses, Aceable is now expanding into other verticals for required education, including real estate continuing education. To date, Aceable touts more than 400,000 users and counting, as it continues to expand nationwide.
ABOUT YOUR NEW TEAM
Being the second member of our design team means you’ll have a ton of input on how the team will work moving into the future. You’ll not only work on new features and ideas, but you’ll also collaborate on process, tools, style, and the user’s experience across multiple platforms and verticals. The Aceable product design team is currently 1 person. He’s ok.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
  • Lead our design team in the development of our UX and research strategies to ensure we are testing the appropriate things in the appropriate ways
  • Create and maintain user personas and user journeys
  • Help the product and experience to remain consistent as users traverse platforms and verticals
  • Collect and analyze data and feedback from our users
  • Wireframe, prototype, and test solutions for new features and feature updates
  • Create and deliver hi-fidelity visual designs and documentation using our Aceable design guidelines
  • Work with the Development and QA teams to make sure designs are developed to spec, thinking on your feet and adjusting where necessary (includes slicing assets properly, creating clear design documentation, and following up with developers during implementation)
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • 5+ years of UX research and design experience (responsive web, native iOS, and native Android)
  • Knowledge and experience in all facets of the design process
  • Proficiency with Sketch
  • Ability to be a team player - you not only can, but you prefer collaborating, taking feedback, and helping others around you succeed
  • Prior experience working with and/or leading a team of designers
BONUS POINTS
  • Ability to create and manage your own tickets in JIRA
  • Experience with Zeplin, Invision, Craft, or Framer
