SEO & Content Marketing Manager
BigCommerce, named "Best Place to Work" in 2017 is looking for a versatile SEO & Content Marketing Manager to help us grow organic traffic and further establish our brand online. Do you nerd out over on-site SEO and high converting keyword opportunities, but also have a passion for putting out award-winning content? Enjoy looking through Search Console and then switching it up and editing a white paper? We’re looking for someone who has actively managed content, gotten deep into the weeds and overseen SEO for a medium to large content website, as well as built relationships and worked with outside contractors and contributors on content promotion.
Content marketing and SEO play a crucial role in the BigCommerce marketing mix, and we believe that to do both well, they need to be executed in unison.
What You’ll Do
- Be the go-to person for SEO expertise in the company. You’ll get questions about web architecture, on-page SEO, long-term strategy and much more.
- Proactively identify new keyword opportunities, then take action to capitalize on them — pushing through from ideation, to execution and right over the finish line to completion.
- Use Google Search Console and additional tools to find low hanging fruit for optimization, after publishing content. Includes tweaks to body content, metadata, and more.
- Keep a watchful eye on the website health of BigCommerce.com, associated international properties, and other BigCommerce digital assets.
- Manage outreach by keeping up with existing contacts and connecting with additional thought leaders in the ecommerce space to drive content partnerships
- Consult our product and engineering teams as they make SEO improvements to our #1 mid-market ecommerce platform.
- Be the partner in crime for the blog editor as we continue to create content that puts customers first, ranks well in organic search for target keywords, and drives new customer acquisition.
- Proficient in semantic search, semantic searches, search engine optimization, SEO optimizations
Who You Are
- An experienced marketer:
- 5+ years experience in online marketing, including 3+ years specifically in SEO and content marketing. If you have online marketing and business experience outside SEO and content marketing, that is an asset.
- Experience building out and managing an outreach program or other partner/business development activities
- Well versed in Google Analytics and/or other analytics platforms. More important than specific tools is the ability to think quantitatively and parse through data to make informed decisions.
- Strong experience with:
- SEO platforms such as Ahrefs, Searchmetrics,
- Crawlers like ScreamingFrog or Deepcrawl.
- Familiarity with ad platforms including Facebook Ads, Google AdWords, etc
- CMS including WordPress, Craft, and others
- Knowledge of HTML and CSS
- Managing international sites
- SQL
- Regex and Xpath
- Action Oriented - You enjoy working hard, are full of energy for challenges, and seize opportunities more than others. If you need to tweak a page in our CMS, or extract a random piece of data from set of webpages, you can figure out how to do it.
