The Opportunity:HomeAway is building the most widely accepted platform for the vacation rental industry. Our global platform supports advertising distribution, payment processing, online and offline booking, dozens of high traffic web sites, and hundreds of integrations with a diverse set of third party applications.
The Quality Engineering team is hiring a Software Development Engineer in Test who paired with and working along side the development team responsible for a traveler’s inbox, favorites, profile, and trips. This role will be implementing automation tests, working with others to build out the javascript framework, and also coordinating with the automation teams to work toward the organizational strategies.
Responsibilities:- Quality Engineer dedicated to the Front End automation but may work on other layers of the stack
- Strong Technical and software development abilities
- Defect Advocate and management
- High and Low level conceptualization of complex analytical systems
- Hands on development for Automation testing
- Support Production Releases
- Provide Daily/Weekly Reports to Managers and Team members
Skills/Requirements:- 4+ years of software testing experience using Automation
- BS degree in CS or equivalent work experience
- Broad understanding of automation tools & best practices
- Strong web development fundamentals (http, browser compatibilities, single page apps, responsive web etc.
- Proficient in Javascript
- HTML experience
- Agile development processes
- Test automation development in any programming language
- Self starter who takes ownership, focus on continuous improvement, and excellent work ethic
- Ability to work with a team and share knowledge
Ideal Candidate:- Quality minded individual with strong test automation experience.
- Expert in Javascript
- Node.js experience
- Selenium WebDriver
- Protractor experience
- Eager to take lead and learn multiple systems and technologies
- Self starter who enjoys unique challenges and develops tools and automation tests to achieve quality goals
- Someone who takes a creative approach to handle highly visible projects and take the technical lead in a position that has a high impact on integrating with all HomeAway Development teams.
- An engineer who thinks quality first and is willing to do whatever it takes to support our quality requirements with a primary focus on automation and user experience
- Willingness to learn new technologies
