What You’ll Do:If you’re the right person for the job you will be joining the growing DevTools team within HomeAway’s ever expanding Development Infrastructure environment. As a DevTools leader, you will continue to drive HomeAway's culture of engineering empowerment. The DevTools team optimizes product delivery by automating the entire software delivery pipeline. The team consistently delivers, and has continually enjoyed a high customer satisfaction score as measured by HomeAway's engineers. You’ll also be helping to build the tools necessary to enable horizontal scaling, provisioning, graphing, monitoring and rapid deployment on our bare metal, public and private cloud environments.

Responsibilities:- Responsible for the overall development infrastructure and tooling and upkeep of the platform
- Working with our internal business partners to gather requirements
- Prototyping, architecting and implementing/updating the platform
- Developing unit tests and performing developer testing of code changes
- Performing peer reviews and code walk through
- Must have the ability to be a self-starter and work independently on technical projects but also work collaboratively with project team members through an agile development process that promotes constant team communication
- Must have excellent communication skills to assist in conducting user interview sessions, requirements gathering, and design reviews
 
Qualifications:- Development experience - Java Web Applications, Service Oriented Architecture and Micro-Services
- Hands-on administration, config management, monitoring of Software Delivery platforms - Jenkins, TeamCity, QuickBuilds, etc.
- Experience with Java and Ruby, Python, Go, Scala, etc.
- Experience with Mesos, Docker, AWS, Azure, VMWare, etc.
- Committed to Open Source Projects. Please provide Github links if appropriate
- Application clustering / load balancing concepts and technologies
- Experience with Splunk, ELK, Kafka, etc. preferred
- Experience with SQL Queries, performance tuning and management of map reduce jobs
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem solving skills
- Experience working in an agile team environment
- Understanding of code promotion, DevOps, system administration, Puppet/Chef, and Platform as a Service Architecture
- Conduct code walk-throughs, peer reviews, and produce technical documentation
