The Opportunity:

HomeAway Customer Experience is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to become part of the Global Education and Knowledge team as a Training Specialist. The primary responsibility for this individual will be to design, facilitate and maintain engaging training for the North America customer support teams. They will assist in development and delivery of internal product launch training, soft skills and new hire training. HomeAway is a constantly changing and evolving business. This high-energy individual will also focus on consistent maintenance of training materials to meet business demands. 
Ideal Candidate: 

Our ideal candidate will have 2-5 years' training experience in a dynamic environment. You will have developed and maintained engaging training materials for diverse groups. Proven ability of fair, consistent classroom management as well as empowering facilitation with adult learners. You possess a data driven mind that can invent effective solutions based on assessment analysis.

Responsibilities include: 

  • Production and delivery of classroom training and eLearning materials. 
  • Collaboration with internal subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop training plans and write learning objectives. 
  • Understand and utilize our LMS to maintain, organize and distribute eLearning content. 
  • Craft learning assessments to evaluate training effectiveness. 
  • Review and revise course content based on student feedback and product updates. 
  • Create engaging learning activities. 
  • Assist in maintaining a global training curriculum.

 Required for this position:

  • Bachelor's degree required or an equivalent combination of education and training experience.
  • 2-5 years experience in a corporate training role.
  • Experience building curriculum for technical classroom environments. This includes creation of engaging learning activities and assessments that challenge learners beyond standard knowledge checks.
  • Extensive experience with MS Office, including; Powerpoint, Excel and Word.
  • Ability to create actionable and measurable objectives.
  • Proven ability to develop relationships with leadership and other departmental partners.
  • Classroom management experience in an adult learning environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Validated ability to work well independently in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Passion and integrity with a dedication to excel and deliver exceptional results.
  • Should have ability to possibly travel internationally if needed (less than 5%).

Highly qualified candidates will also possess:

  • Experience building courses for call center environments.
  • Experience producing eLearning materials in softwares such as Articulate360, Storyline, Camtasia, Captivate, etc.
  • Experience managing and navigating a LMS such as Saba.
  • Understanding of working in an Agile organizational environment.
