Job Summary:

The UX Manager will be an integral part of the Fulfillment Design team - leading, managing and guiding the UX/UI designers in the ideation, creation and fulfillment of mobile application design. Our ideal candidate has a passion for user experience and interface design, with demonstrated experience in thought leadership.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the UX/UI designers to concept, storyboard, wireframe, prototype and QA new user experiences on all major mobile platforms
  • Lead the designers in creating unique user interface designs that are brand consistent, pixel perfect and keep in mind OS interface guidelines as well as accessibility for mobile
  • Establish and maintain high creative standards, providing detailed direction and insight to the design team throughout the life cycle of designing an application
  • Supervise the creation of production-ready art assets and style guides for implementation by the development team
  • Demonstrate strong thought leadership when working closely with the sales team on new business leads to brainstorm on design strategy, feature recommendations and branding considerations
  • Conceptualize, brainstorm, generate and execute ideas that bring the client’s brand to life on mobile
  • Work closely with the Creative Director on managing the workloads, timelines, dependencies, and deliverables of the design team
  • Take on a role of mentorship with the design team, gaining an understanding of each designer’s goals and skillsets and help in providing them with opportunities for growth and improvement
  • Work closely with the Program Managers and Development Managers across all projects to ensure design dependencies are identified, timelines are created and managed, designs are created and delivered on time and the customer is happy with the deliverables of the team
  • Interface directly with clients for design reviews and presentations, both in-person and via conference call
  • Occasional travel for client meetings (including sales pitch meetings, project kick-offs and customer service design milestone meetings)
  • Oversee multiple designers across multiple projects in varying stages simultaneously
  • Provide guidance to customer on current UX / UI trends, mobile environments and future roadmap planning

Qualifications:

  • BFA in Design and 3-5 years of professional design experience
  • Previous experience in end-to-end mobile application design
  • 2 years of management experience leading design teams
  • Demonstrated knowledge of mobile industry and new technology trends; exceptional conceptual and design skills
  • Proficient in Creative Suite, Sketch, Sympli, Atomic
  • Excellent visual, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proven ability to manage relationships and drive process; Strong collaboration and leadership skills
  • Consistent track record for delivering commitments on time, with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail with an ownership mentality
  • Professional manner and highly polished interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment, as well as work independently and exercise sound professional judgment
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously in a creative environment
  • Commitment to responsiveness, high quality work, and customer service
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high volume environment
  • Ability to react to directional changes quickly and positively and to receive and implement constructive feedback
  • Appreciation of the balance between creative and business opportunities

Desirable:

  • Feature requirements gathering experience
  • Keynote / presentation ideation and creation experience
  • Familiarity with Basecamp and Jira
  • iOS and Android OS knowledge
  • Previous experience in new technologies like wearables, Alexa, AR or VR
  • Candidate must be open to travel as needed
