Job Summary:

The UX/UI Web Designer will be an integral of our Product Design team, focusing on driving the user experience of our web portal. She / he will work closely with the Development team and Product leaders to design, iterate and evolve our portal user interface, with a focus on offering an intuitive, engaging user experience with beautiful yet functional visual design.

Our web portal allows our customers to manage their end-to-end mobile application experiences, and provides a broad range of functionality and services, targeting varied personas and use cases.

The ideal candidate will have a comprehensive portfolio of various works with an emphasis on user experience, human interaction, and visual design for web. She / he will be a problem solver who thrives in a fast paced environment, enjoys collaboration and takes ownership of the work they are creating.

Responsibilities:

  • Design well thought out, intuitive experiences that are empathic to users, streamline complex tasks and reinforce a cohesive product strategy
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end design documentation for product initiatives (including site maps, task analysis, persona mapping, user flows, storyboards, content mapping, prototypes, and visually designed screens)
  • Create and maintain a design system or GUIs for the web portal and deliver visually designed screens that are consistent and cohesive with this system.
  • Create and evolve user journeys and personas to drive UI/UX.
  • Identify, test, and analyze hypotheses and design challenges, through user testing, and work with Product/Engineering teams to implement and optimize our portal.
  • Be the voice of design for the web portal and be able to articulate and defend design decisions and advocate for optimal user experiences; both to internal and external audiences.
  • Deliver art assets and style guides to development and support the team during development and QA
  • Work with Product Design leadership to create and maintain portal design best practices, style guidelines and information architecture.
  • Work with Product Design leadership to evaluate and adopt new tools or processes that can improve design offerings and inform design
  • Attend and participate in all relevant Product kickoff, daily standup, and planning meetings
  • Stay up to date on the latest design paradigms and new technologies and provide recommendations on when to introduce them to latest portal initiatives

Qualifications:

  • BFA / MFA in Design and 3+ years professional design experience
  • Previous experience in end-to-end, utilitarian web portal design
  • Proficient in industry standard software for wireframing, prototyping, and visual design (Creative Suite, Sketch, Sympli, Atomic or similar)
  • Excellent visual, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work successfully in a team environment (with other designers, business and technical resources), as well as work independently and exercise sound professional judgment
  • Strong internal motivation, natural ambition and an ability to deliver quickly across multiple projects
  • Consistent track record for delivering commitments on time, with minimal supervision
  • Strong attention to detail with an ownership mentality
  • Ability to handle a variety of tasks and projects simultaneously in a creative environment
  • Commitment to responsiveness, high quality work, and collaboration
  • Ability to react to directional changes quickly and positively and to receive and implement constructive feedback
  • Appreciation of balance between creative and business objectives
  • Demonstrated knowledge of web industry and new technology trends

Desirable:

  • Experience with User Research, User Testing or designing in sprints
  • Experience using Jira
  • Previous experience designing web interfaces for a web/mobile Software-As-A-Service (SaaS) or similar product offering
  • Previous experience designing for mobile or responsive design
  • Candidate must be open to travel as needed
