About Us

OwnLocal is a fun-loving and hardworking Austin-area startup with a crazy plan to help local media companies— like newspapers and broadcast TV and radio stations—survive in the digital age. We built this fancy tech to automatically generate digital advertising campaigns for their small business advertisers. OwnLocal powers digital services for more than 2,600 local media partners across North America, Europe, and Australia to drive success for local businesses.

We're backed by Y Combinator, 500 Startups, and tons of other awesome SV and ATX investors. We're profitable, cash flow positive, and have found our product market fit.

About You

You're a good-natured person (with a sense of humor) and people just like working with you. You are detail-oriented, focused, and self-motivated. You're excited about scanning advertisements for offers and working for a technology company like OwnLocal.

About The Work

We are looking for part-time and full-time hourly contractors. You'll work within our proprietary tool to create digital ad campaigns for SMBs. This involves creating online business profiles, gleaning the most important offer from a digital ad, and pairing it with an appropriate, high-quality ad photo.

Here are some things our Production Team does every day:

• Source local business data
• Process interactive ad campaign creative material
• Make updates to live ad units
• Quality assurance and quality control of our partners' data

You should probably apply if you are good at the following:

• Grammar and spelling. Like, ridiculously good.
• Amazing attention to detail
• Writing advertisement offers that make people fall in love with you
• Finding places where you can lend an extra hand

You should really seriously apply if you are also good at any of the following:

• Working late nights and early mornings (6pm to 6am)
• Self-management
• Multi-tasking
• Always keeping a positive attitude
