At WP Engine, we recently launched our new brand strategy and campaign. Now we’re extending that strategy into a fully integrated, 360 brand experience for our customers and employees. Our website will be front and center, showcasing the ART & SCIENCE of digital experiences that can be created using WordPress & WP Engine.
Reporting into the brand team, the Web Copywriter determines and develops content needed to deliver an exceptional user experience, ensuring content is easy-to-understand, actionable, on-brand and consistent for website visitors. This role will be involved throughout the website redesign and development process, including helping to define the content strategy and writing all necessary copy and content artifacts. The writer will shape ideas based on our brand message house, product, analytics (e.g. Google Analytics, A/B Testing Results, Persona Segmentation), and on our overarching site redesign goals resulting in highly engaging, informative, and conversion oriented content.
THE DAY TO DAYWe are looking for a dynamic and experienced Web Copywriter to support the launch of WP Engine’s new corporate website.
- Writes concise, engaging content that adheres to brand guidelines for tone and voice, uses language best practices for the given channel/medium and is optimized for search engines.
- Defines content problems to be solved during the objective-setting and discovery process for our website redesign, and decides which content methods and tools to use.
- Manages content strategy, collaborating heavily with brand, product marketing, and the web team in the planning and development of the website redesign.
- Leverages customer research, personas, journey maps and site data to develop content strategies that target visitor needs and support business goals.
- Works closely with experience and visual designers to ensure that content and information architecture supports and strengthens the overall user experience strategy.
- Aligns with and supports developing consistent cross project or cross-work stream content experience requirements to ensure continuity for the user across the omni-channel customer experience.
- Publishes simple content updates to the site.
- Bachelor`s degree or equivalent work experience required.
- 5+ years professional experience in writing and editing with a minimum of 1 year in an online platform.
- Experience leveraging Google Analytics and/or other web analytics and CRO solutions to support content decision making.
- Experience leading content initiatives from ideation through implementation.
- Experience publishing in an enterprise level content management system.
- Experience working in a holistic customer-centric design process and ability to collaborate across department teams.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills (comfortable in interacting with all levels of the company and presenting projects and status reports).
- Strong relationship building and networking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneous.
